Can anyone help me figure out how to connect belkin g+ router with vista via laptop?

i've been trying to set this up for a while now, but it doesn't seem to work.. i plug the router in and it tells me there is no internet connection when it's plugged directly into the modem.Can anyone help me figure out how to connect belkin g+ router with vista via laptop?
1st are you in the Wpa hole on the so phone line to modem to router to computer 2nd hit and hold reset for 15 seconds to the router you should have no prob finding it now olny prob might be if you cant REV wireleess G on laptop look at spec for your WIFI

After you connect the router to the modem, reboot the modem. After all the lights stabilize on the modem reboot the router. If that doesn't fix it check the Belkin online support http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/prod鈥?/a>

Does the internet work without the router connected? If it is not working after what you have been trying, you can reset a modem (restart), then reboot system.





Did you connect the modem to the router using an ethernet cable? or usb? Try doing the reverse if you have both connecting wires (ethernet or usb)





Is your belkin g router still under waranty?





If so, call them. You are entitled to support and I find support good for wireless routers, although I have never used a belkin.





If you insist on doing this yourself, then connect with ethernet (laptop to belkin router) and go into the portal and check the settings..,. You need to do this anyway in order to set up security with a password.





To access the portal on your laptop get a browser and type this address:





http://192.168.1.0/





Hopefully, this takes you into the the router. However, I have not used a belkin, so it may end with 1 or 2. This should show in your manual. It should also show you go in as 'admin' . Once in, you can set a password for 'admin' and configure your security settings. If you are not sure, choose 'wep'. You will need a 10 digit key or password. Telephone numbers work very well.
