How come (2) iexplore line items show up when i only open up (1) internet explorer?

i thought it was a 1 to 1 basis....could 1 be some kind of virus? if so, how would i get my system back to normal?How come (2) iexplore line items show up when i only open up (1) internet explorer?
ARE THE letters same????


if now,,,eg are capital in one and small in the other....do a google search with those details.

1. One is the Windows Operating System

Internet Explorer 8, like Google Chrome, separates different tabs into different processes so that even if one tab crashes or hangs, the others can keep going. The first iexplore is the coordinating process, the main one which controls the Internet Explorer window. The second one is the home page. If you open a new tab, you'll find a third iexplore process.
