How do you download movies off the internet and then put them onto a DVD?

I want to be able to download a movie from an internet website (any good recommendations?) onto my laptop so I can view it at any time. And it would be awesome to then be able to burn the downloaded movies from my laptop onto DVD discs which I can put into my TV's DVD player. Anyone know how to do this??
