I have some applications that open into Internet Explorer when I want to download a new feature or something. How do I change this?How do I make all applications internet features open using Firefox?
Some internet applications won't work with Firefox and only work with IE. Came across this problem the other day trying to buy something and the primary part wouldn't work with FF and the secondary part wouldn't work with IE. It's time programmers got used to the idea that there is more than one browser out there and they should stick to the standard so a program will work on any browser.How do I make all applications internet features open using Firefox?
Unfortunately you can't. Many programs, particularly programs made around 2001-2005 when Internet Explorer had over 90% market share, are hard coded to ';open Internet Explorer'; rather than the correct ';open a web browser'; (in which case it would open whatever browser you set as the default). Many older websites won't even work in Firefox because they did all sorts of hacks to get IE to show it correctly, which means the more standards-compliant browsers will mess it up.
